The reason we sing
A place for a
living language.
The choir began in 1944, bringing people with Islay connections together in Glasgow. Its members now come from a wider range of backgrounds, united by Gaelic song.
The charity develops vocal music, with a particular focus on Gaelic. It brings that music to audiences through concerts and competitive performances in Scotland and further afield.
Under this proposed plan, lottery proceeds would support the choir’s Gaelic music, rehearsals and public performances. Playing is one way to support the choir; you can also explore its music and activities.
